The Clamp Division of PHD is proud to announce
the release of two new sizes of the Series PEC Arm Over Clamp. Designed to provide the widest range of high clamping force in the industry, the Series PEC incorporates a cam locking mechanism that prevents the arm from opening if air pressure is lost. The lock works in a range of 6 degrees from the fully closed position.
Manual release of the clamp can be achieved by using  common tools without removing plugs, while providing contamination resistance. Now in three clamp sizes and a choice of two bore sizes per clamp, there is greater flexibility for applications requiring rugged part holding solutions.
Other benefits Include:
- Multiple output shaft options that allow the clamp arms to be mounted on either or both sides
- All design 2 units are now internally orificed to reduce the need for expensive flow controls and assist in the prevention of overloading failures caused by poor flow control adjustment
- Low-cost switches can be mounted directly to the cylinder for non-welding applications
- World switches can be added for weld-field immune applications
- Positional switch targets are now standard on all units

Weld Cylinder Solutions
PHD is proud to announce the release of the Weld Cylinders Solutions catalog. PHD's Weld Cylinders feature a superior design, best delivery and lowest cost of ownership.
Weld cylinders are used in the resistance (spot) welding  operations found in automotive assembly plants, office furniture, bedding foundation manufacturers, metal stamping plants and wire product manufacturers, such as, concrete reinforcement grid and live stock gates.
These cylinders are found in many bore sizes and mounting styles within the same facility. PHD's Weld Cylinders feature a round rod and a very robust non-rotating design equal to or better than any weld cylinder on the market. The round rod allows the use of a metal rod scraper which keeps contaminants out of the cylinder, extending the life of the seals. Extensive field testing has proven the PHD design can withstand rapid cycles and high torque applications.

These are the words of a machine builder who bought GRT grippers only to find his environment was so rough, a typical life of 10 million cycles was reduced to less than a thousand. The response he received showed him why PHD is on spec at his customer location.

The solution was a sealed 3-jaw gripper with a unique square jaw design for high load capacity. It also featured a round tooling adapter and a metallic rod scraper to protect from debris. All components were corrosion resistant. A marine-equivalent lube was specified for extended service in their wet environment.
Our experience with similar harsh environments led us to expect a minimum of 3 months continuous operation. To this day, all 8 grippers are running without a single failure for 6 months. Successes like these are why PHD made spec at their customer and why we have gained the respect of this machine builder.
