Hmmm, that will give you pause to stop and think awhile, won't it? That would probably be a great topic for one of our Behavior Modification Classes. Then go around the room and have everyone give their definition of that statement. Allow me to share mine, then we might do the class at a later date.
Some of you have heard me tackle this subject previously. It does not matter how much weight you lose (even 100 pounds or more), if you don't identify & conquer the reasons that caused the weight gain to begin with, they will hunt you down, haunt you, and tempt you a little at a time until 5 pounds turn into 50 pounds (or more)! This is a very important component in your ability to keep those pounds off forever. You must make the choice to overcome, and claim the victory in this, and don't become the victim again. Sometimes when things are emotionally painful for us to think about, our way of dealing with them is to ignore them. You can't do that & expect to claim your victory.
This is your goal: "Identify and Conquer." This should be your homework over the course of your weight loss program. Think long & hard about this - make your mind work to remember and identify - reasons - who you were with - how you were feeling - what did you have - how many did you have - how did you feel after - did you attempt to reason with yourself - what do you remember thinking - why did you give yourself permission - did you have a "partner in crime" - what time of day was it - what were you doing at the time????
Do yourself a huge favor & purchase a journal that you can write in......with the answers to the above questions. Remember and record as much as you can, you can even go back many years. You will eventually pick up a pattern that will help you identify the same reasons over and over again.
