MONEY SAVING IDEA- If you can relate.
Now more than ever we need to find ways to use our money wisely. Since money doesn't grow on trees I have changed our families shopping habits and watch what I spend more carefully. I have never been much of a shopper and haven't been to a mall since November, until last week. I prefer to give a list to my mom and a budget and have her get the things I need. She loves to shop for our clients and my family. While at the mall last week I noticed it was empty. The food court was easily the hottest thing going and as I looked at the prices in the shops I understood why. Even the discount shoe store was $30 for a pair of sandals. I quickly became discouraged and said it is time to leave. My mom, who is the bargain queen suggested we go to Good Will. "No thank you" I replied, the last time I went there was for a trench coat in the 80's. With a bit of encouragement and letting me know my children's clothes that I love have recently been purchased from there I said ok. The place was packed, cars filed the parking spaces and I knew they were on to something. Once inside I was greeted by Talbot's, Ann Taylor, Lily Pulitzer, Stuart Weitzman Shoes, Ralph Lauren, Gap, Kenneth Cole and more. It was a treasure trove of goodies and I was loving it. My kids filled a basket along with the rest of our crew and $80 later I had 4 giant bags filled with wonderful things for our family including the cat. It did take some time to go through the aisles and find all that we did but on a Sunday afternoon my time is my own and the money I saved was well worth it. So when your kids outgrow their clothes every two weeks and you are desperate for a pair of black capris or your husband must have a new pair of golf shoes go Goodwill Hunting! Enjoy.
