Yummy Spring Recipes

Chicken Cordon Bleu- Easy

4 chicken cutlets- butterflied
4 slices of sweet ham
4 slices of Swiss cheese
1/2 cup  of Alfredo sauce- Store bought is great
1/8 cup white wine
1/2 cup seasoned bread crumbs
Salt and pepper to taste

Place one ham slice and one cheese slice in each chicken breast and fold closed. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Roll each chicken breast in bread crumbs and place in 8x8 pan. Mix the Alfredo sauce and white wine together and drizzle on top of chicken breast. Bake at 350 for 22-27 minutes or until juice runs clear.  Serve with Roasted Potatoes and Basil Green Beans.

Yogurt Garlic-Basil Kabobs - Chicken or Beef- Trust me

These may not sound great but the yogurt marinates the meat until it is so tender

1 cup plain yogurt
2 tablespoon minced garlic
1 cup fresh basil- chopped finely
1/2 tsp curry powder- Don't like curry use jerk seasoning
3 chicken breast or 4 sirloin steaks
1 red bell pepper, seeded and cut into squares
1 red onion cut into squares
2 yellow squash sliced into 1/2 inch pieces
1 pint cherry tomatoes
1 tablespoon olive oil
Salt and Pepper to taste

Mix the first 4 ingredients. Add chicken or beef to the bowl and sit for at least an hour. You can leave it overnight as well. Then soak your skewers in water for 20 minutes. Preheat grill to medium. Toss all the veggies in a plastic storage bag with the olive oil and salt and pepper. Thread meat and veggies onto skewers and place on foil lined baking sheet. Grill kabobs turning occasionally. Chicken abut 12-14 minutes and Beef 8-12 minutes. Serve with Spinach and Wild Rice. Yummy!!

Spring Cleaning Tips

 .

We would love to clean your house, that is what we do but if you don't choose us let us tell you how to do a few things and save money.

Best New Gadget

We will always love our Shark Steam Mop but some floors just need something else.  Today my favorite hardwood floor cleaning system is the Bona Floor Mop- All in one. It is a great one piece unit that has the green cleaning product attached to the mop. Easy to use and cleans great. Many of you will begin to us use this in addition to or replace the steam mop. I have always recommended Bona products and this is great.
You can find it at Lowes, Bed Bath and Beyond and online.

A few things to remember.

In the spring and in the fall (really every three months) Vacuum your mattress and then flip the ends. Who knows what grows on there.

Vacuum out your drawers, especially the silverware drawer.

If your drapery is not washable remember to vacuum it.

Remove and wash your sofa cushions. Most are washable and can use the clean smell.

Vacuum or dust your lamp shades.

Remember to wash or replace your hood filter.

Vacuum or clean the condenser coil on your refrigerator.

Vinegar cleaning- Inexpensive and Non-Toxic

Clean the microwave- 1/2 water and 1/2 vinegar in a bowl and microwave until boiling. Wipe Clean.Counter Tops- Fresh and degreased Use a cloth soaked with vinegar.

Clean brass and copper with 2 tablespoons ketchup and 1 tablespoon vinegar

Get rid of fruit flies- set a small dish of white vinegar on your counter.

Keep ants away from windows- Spray vinegar around cracks, doorways and appliances

Clean your dishwasher- Pour a cup of vinegar into the bottom of the empty dishwasher. Monthly.
