Dear Friend,
On behalf of the volunteers and staff at CCHS, I'd like to thank everyone who made a donation to CCHS in 2011!

Many of you sent in end-of-year donations with cards, photos, and adoption stories that warmed our hearts.  It's always nice to be reminded of the joy our animals bring to the lives of their new families.

If the animal you adopted from CCHS has stolen your heart, we'd love to hear from you.  Stories and letters submitted by February 12th will be considered for a featured spot on our homepage on Valentine's Day.  See "Show Us the Love" below for more details.

The quotes and photos submitted may also be featured on our new website, launching later this month.

You may remember that back in the fall we asked you to support our efforts to win a $10,000 website makeover from LRS Web SolutionsThanks to your enthusiastic response, we won the makeover!!  A talented and dedicated team at LRS has been working furiously on our new website ever since. Follow their blog here.

The scheduled launch date is February 28.  I hope you'll check out our new look and set the site as one of your "favorites."

We're extremely grateful to LRS for their generous donation of time, expertise, and creativity!

Finally, I'd like to take a moment to offer a belated "thank you" to our friends at the Art Coop in Lincoln Square, Urbana.  In December, the Art Coop hosted its second annual "Art for the Animals" $50 art show to benefit CCHS.  Thanks to the Art Coop and the many talented local artists who generously donated their original works of art, we earned over $3,000.

Pet of the Month: Maria

MariaMaria is a 2 year old spayed female.  She is a medium-sized mixed breed dog.

We're not exactly sure what breed she is, only that she is beautiful!

She came to CCHS because her previous owners were moving and they had too many dogs.  Maria is an active dog who would love a yard to play in and someone to take her on daily walks or runs.

She is house broken and crate trained.

She is good with other dogs and children of all ages, and would be best in a home with no cats.  She is very smart and knows sit, down, and come.

Maria is a sweet and loving dog just waiting for the perfect home.  Come by CCHS sometime to meet her!
