Market Updates | One week to go before our November markets begin. Please remember, our November markets start at 9am and go until Thanksgiving.
We have lots in store for you this weekend, including another round of the Haunted Hollywood Walking Tours! Just in time for Halloween, this Saturday free walking tours will take people to many of the haunted places within Hollywood. The tour will include entering the most haunted building in Hollywood (and it is not the Hollywood Theatre). Leaving at 9am, 10am, 11am and noon from the farmers market Information Booth at the corner of 44th & Hancock, the tours will be conducted by local architect John Perkins. Each tour will last approximately 40 minutes and will be fun, informative, and shiver inducing. John Perkins invites long term and new residents to join him.
Crista will be at the market again this weekend painting the faces of young and old alike. We're looking forward to another great market this weekend and hope you are too.
See you at the market!

Thank You Thank You Thank You!
| The Market Fresh Lunch Series to benefit the Fresh Funds Program concluded last Saturday with a show-stopping lunch by Chef Anthony Cafiero of Tabla and long-time HFM supporter Chef Greg Mistell of Fleur de Lis Bakery & Cafe. The chefs shopped the market bright and early and then began curing salmon, smoking albacore, cleaning fresh chicories and mustard greens, and candying hazelnuts in the church kitchen, thanks to the generosity of the Rose City Park Presbyterian Church. They then moved to the Moon & Sixpence (which opened early just for the lunch and allowed the Market to take over its kitchen and dining room) where they served the lunch to guests sitting cozy inside the neighborhood pub on the rainy afternoon.
HFM vendors were also stars of the lunch, with donations pouring in from Linda Brand Crab, Willapa Hills Farmstead Cheeses, Persephone Farm, ProFarm Produce, Peak Forest Fruit, and Gales Meadow Farm.
Many thanks to those who attended the lunches, participating chefs and vendors, RCPPC, the Moon &Sixpence, and the Market Lunch sponsor, Albina Community Bank! |
