Play by Play Hunt Report

"Serving Hunters' & Landowners' Needs Since 1987"

25th Anniversary

October 2, 2012

We are pleased to report that our area around San Angelo continues to be blessed with generous rainfall. Matter of fact, we received one of our wettest systems in this area that we have experienced in  years, with 6"-8" of precipitation falling last Friday and Saturday. Our reservoirs are in better shape than they have been in some time, and many areas of this part of the state are lush with excellent habitat conditions. There are still some areas of South Texas, as well as a few areas out west, that could still use a big drink of water, but many areas of the Lone Star State have come a long way in recent months in terms of rebounding from last year's drought and wildfires.

As you'll see in this Play By Play, we had some very decent dove shoots here in the Angelo area. Despite many of our birds leaving out a few days before the season opener, as doves are famous for doing, our clients still experienced some good action.

We have almost wrapped up our helicopter game surveys, and as you'll see with the photos posted here, things are looking good. Quality is up on many of the places we have flown, and we are looking forward to a great all-around hunting fall season.

Best regards,

Your Friends at WSI

We hosted a Texas Wildlife Association Dove Hunt on Saturday, Sept. 15, near San Angelo, to benefit TWA Advocacy program efforts.  Great fun was had by all. We would like to give special thanks to our good friends at Crockett National Bank for their generous sponsorship of the meal.

WSI Dove Hunts
Dove hunts are great options for corporate outings, or family/friend type hunts. Our availability is generally limited, so please inquire early for possibilities.

2012 Fall Aerial Survey's

We have almost finished with our helicopter game surveys.  Below, please find some photos of some whitetails and mule deer we observed, which will provide a sneak preview of what's out there this season.
