Play by Play Hunt Report

wsi_header

Did you have your black eye peas on Saturday? For those unfamiliar with this New Year's day tradition, it its a southern, cultural belief that consuming some black eye peas will bring you good luck during the new year. Not for sure if this phenomenon has retroactive powers, but non-the-less, it may be wise to have you a bowl today at lunch so that you have one more hedge at ensuring a great 2011.

As you will notice, there are several more photos of great mule deer taken this past season, including Buddy Rainey's family photos from the Jobe Ranch. We also saved photos of our highest scoring mule deer of the season, which is Chris Austin's 194" buck taken with archery equipment. Chris also took a 178" mulie on the same hunt, with a bow, as well!

Our Play by Plays will slow down over the next few months, and will be brought to you on a more infrequent basis, and will contain a heavy dose of nilgai, aoudad, and other exotics, as well as some other miscellaneous photos, such as  a few fall deer photos we may have overlooked.

Here's wishing you and yours' a most joyous and healthy 2011.

Cheers,

Your friends at WSI.

A.S. Gage Ranch

We saved the best for last. The A.S. Gage Ranch  is a consistent producer of exceptional mule deer....not to say the Jobe hasn't had its share of knock-out mule deer as well. Leading the pack here is Chris Austin, who put on two exceptional stalks with his archery equipment and came away with two exceptional trophies...now that is getting it done!  But lets be honest, there is not a mule deer here that is not exceptional and beats waiting for 10 years for a tag in the western U.S.

Jobe Ranch

Well you know what they say, "the family that hunts together harvests big mule deer." Or something like that. The Raney's just get it done everytime they hunt the Jobe Ranch. Take a look back through our photo gallery and you will see they are always in the right place at the right time on the Jobe.
