We hope you and your family had an enjoyable and safe Christmas. Now, before you go complaining about how you over indulged on good groceries, remember, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day, generally yield a smorgasbord of good cuisine as well, so hold off on any resolutions regarding weight watching until next week.
Light at the end of the tunnel is in sight for our current fall hunting schedule, and as you will notice, we have continued to stack up some great animals. Bookings for 2011 are already beginning to materialize, so please give us a shout if you have something in mind for this next year.
Have a safe New Year's celebration, and stay tuned for our next WSI Play by Play next week.
Happy New Years,
Your friends at WSI. |

2010 Hunter Feedback
Justin/Greg- I had a great time with Mike, Cade, Ben and the Ranch Manager at the Jobe Ranch. Learned a lot about Mulies. It was a fun hunt--need to get in better shape as we had to climb to get my mule deer. It was a little more difficult than I thought to slow down the breathing from the climb in order to shoot from shooting sticks at a deer a little over 200 yards away. My scope was all over the place. It worked out and made this a great Hunt. The other hunters on the trip were also great and had very interesting stories. It was nice to have a small group as we could get to know each other. Mike was a terrific guide and your photographer Ben was great to be around as he was always upbeat. Mother nature played with us on this hunt with cold mornings, full moons, and 40+ mile an hour winds. But in the end we prevailed and had a memorable hunt. Thanks for everything. Look forward to doing it again. Scott
Dear Greg, First and foremost, here is wishing you and yours a very festive holiday season! Secondly, (and ashamedly late) I want to congratulate and thank you for your first class operation. It is nearly three months since our motley band descended on the Yturria Ranch. As we were driving to the ranch I was still fielding questions as to what we were hunting (a nil-what?)- not because of a lack of information from yourselves, but more because of impoverished levels of attention paid by my team. By the time we left a mere 3 days later, everyone was well aware of the guile and toughness of these fabulous animals. A wonderful experience was had by all: in large part because you delivered exactly what you said you would. The food was great, the accommodations were clean, comfortable and convivial. The equipment all worked and the guides were first-rate. It is tremendous that ten hunters can all learn a good deal about their quarry, their environment and have a lot of fun in the process. Rudy and Ruben managed everyone and their expectations with ease and grace. Not only are they a credit to you, but they even speak highly of you behind your back!!! I am certain that we will be talking to you at some point about aoudad or mule deer or even another round of nilgai, but for now a hearty thank you and I hope that you and your team all enjoy a safe and relaxing time. Roger
Greg, Randy and I had a great time on our hunt. Rocky and the "cook" do a great job. It's like having a family get together. I saw a lot of great bucks, even though I missed the drop tine. I felt better when Rocky told me the rest of the story. Randy and I plan on coming back next year. I will send my $300.00 deposit shortly. My son Curt is also thinking about coming if there was a clasic hunt available on the 3rd hunt. Please let me know. You and your family have a great holiday season. Thanks again for the great time. Mo

La Rucia Ranch
South Texas is not so far from Louisiana but there is a world of difference when it comes to deer. The La Rucia Ranch continues to be good to its hunters as both Colt and John harvested great whitetails. Not a bad end to a great season on the La Rucia ranch.

Jobe Ranch
Nothing like west Texas for fast and furious, big desert mule deer action. The Jobe Ranch is a great place to start with our mule deer photos from the 2010 season. Talk about some fantastic mule deer. There isn't a one that doesn't deserve to be hanging in a trophy room.

A.S. Gage Ranch
Once again the A.S. Gage Ranch has come through to produce some pretty nice mule deer. Ray Bitzkie led the pack in this group, with an outstanding mid-180's class mule deer. More mule deer photos to come in the next Play by Play.
