This issue of Sparks Fly! focuses on the belief, "We become what we think about." Most of us have heard at least some of the quotes shared in this issue. But notice as you are looking at these authors, what varied backgrounds they come from and how they stretch across the centuries. What is also fascinating is that each discovered this 'truth' for themselves as an original thought.
So, although we know the truth of this statement intellectually, have you yet internalized it? Made it a part of you? Have you harnessed its power?
The question becomes, 'What are you thinking about?" In a time when business is challenged like never before, when heads are crammed so full of programs, initiatives, opportunities and issues ... and fears, you may not be sure what THING you are thinking about.
Remember the movie "City Slickers," with Billy Crystal and Jack Palance? Palance's character sums up nicely what we must all do. When asked the question, "What is life all about?" He holds up one finger and wisely says,"One thing." The caveat, as this wise old cowboy explains, is, we must each decide for ourselves the one thing.
And the one thing? Is the answer to success, however you define yours, now and for thousands of years before us.
