Summer Reading
|
Since reading is a key part of spiritual formation, the staff at HOPE recommend one or two books each quarter for you to read with a group of friends or on your own. This summer's selection is Just Courage by Gary Haugen. He is the president and CEO of International Justice Mission (IJM), a human rights organization based in Washington, D.C. Haugen writes about how to live a life of significance and adventure by expanding our vision of God and by learning to do justice, love mercy and walk humbly with our God ($10). |

"Love for people and love for God has to drive our short term mission work. That will happen only as short term missions experiences become part of a lifelong journey of seeking to love people cross-culturally, whenever and wherever we encounter them." David A. Livermore

Prayer Service
Monday, July 2, at 7 pm
"If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place." 2 Chronicles 7:14-15
As we approach the time of year where we celebrate our independence as a nation, we want to gather together in prayer and declare our dependence on God. Join us Monday, July 2 at 7pm as we humble ourselves in prayer and repentance for our live, for our nation, our servicemen, police and others, who protect and serve us locally and around the world. |

My Father's Work

We are thankful to all who felt compelled to join our Father's work. As of Sunday evening we were only 2 children short of our sponsorship goal for Compassion International and the garbage can set up to collect your loose change to loosen chains was overflowing into additional containers. Many lives will be impacted by the donations made to IJM as many of you went without grocery shopping, eating out and found many more creative ways to do without to find extra money to give. Many others will be impacted by the monies made because you purchased goods they made in their efforts to learn a way to support themselves in a new life. Imagine what it would be like to live doing My Father's work everyday. If your life was impacted, your outlook changed, we would love to hear about it.
