MIDLAND MOMENT OF THE WEEK: Last weekend the students in Outdoor Leadership took a trip to the high Sierra. Derek Harwell '88 reports, "On Saturday night we drove up to the Eastern Sierra where we camped below Mt. Whitney (the highest peak in the lower 48). The next morning we drove to Horseshoe Meadow and hiked into the backcountry for a three day trip. We encountered cold temperatures and strong winds which forced us to camp lower down than we had originally intended. Despite this, we had a wonderful time camping in the Foxtail Pine/Lodgepole Pine forest with an excursion to the 11,000 ft Cottonwood Lakes Basin."
The purpose of the Midland Moment of the Week is to connect with our current families by sharing a moment that occurred during the week at Midland.
