- School Prefects: Congratulations to Marcus Schmidt and Savannah Bryant, our 2011-12 School Prefects!
- New Faculty Members: Midland is excited to welcome a few new faculty members this year. They are Amy Graham, Director of Admissions and Financial Aid; Michelle Bone, Librarian, and Kyle Taylor, Library Technician, Midland 102 co-teacher and fitness trainer. We look forward to having their expertise in their respective roles and their enthusiasm for Midland.
- Campus Preparation: Seniors and Faculty members worked together to clean cabins and the campus before new students arrived.
- Opening Days went swimmingly and classes are in full swing. We're looking forward to a great year! See more about Opening Days.
- First Day of Classes: After classes on Monday, we enjoyed an all-school activity on the field. Click here to see photos from the first day of the 2011-12 school year.
- Marine Biology Trip: Jeff Goddard took Midland's Marine Biology class to Gaviota State Park on Tuesday afternoon for the class's first low tide field trip of the semester. This first trip was an exploratory look at sandy beach and rocky shore habitat. The group will return to the coast several more times throughout the semester.
- Midland 102: On Wednesday, September 14th, Midland 102 students participated in some team-building and problem-solving activities.
- Surprise Full Moon Hike: On Saturday, September 10th, seniors and new students were treated to a full moon hike around the Bowl where they were awed by the distant lightning show.
