Spring Theater Production: A repeat performance of Midland's spring theater production of Margaret Edson's Pulitzer Prize-winning play, Wit, will be presented in the amphitheater on
Saturday, May 1st, at 8 p.m. Audience members are advised to dress
warmly. The play, which runs for about ninety minutes without
intermission, contains mature themes and language and may not be
suitable for children.
- Human Rights Film: On Monday evening, faculty member Sarah Campbell brought her Modern Middle East students Nico Palleroni '10, Rachel Featherstone '11 and Jack Marcus '12 to the Human Rights Film Festival at UCSB to see a new documentary on the
Israel/Palestine conflict.
- Midland Benches/Desks For Sale: Former faculty member Carlos Ortiz has Midland benches for sale. Read the background story and view photos.
- Art Competition: Four Midland students were named finalists in the Applause juried art
show, organized by Arts Outreach in Los Olivos. Zhiyuan Huang '10, Kyle
Hong '10, Hyemin Lee '10 and Anna Moiseyeva '13 were all named finalists in the
Visual Arts category, in which Anna took third place. Anna was also
named finalist in the Literary category. Congratulations!
- Shakespeare Night: On Sunday evening, several students and faculty members entertained the entire school at the Annual Shakespeare Night organized and led by Jill Redl.
- Support Midland's Student-Led Yearbook: This student led project will be hardcover,
printed on 30% PCW recycled paper, 80 pages, and created using InDesign
CS4. Please help support the yearbook by purchasing an advertisement
for your business that will be a part of the book. Ads/messages can be
business card
sized to full page sized; please view the advertising form for sizing
prices. Unfortunately, there isn't a lot of time before the yearbook
is supposed to go off to printing, so please e-mail Mariah Chen '11 ASAP regarding any interest or questions. Mariah

- UCSB Panel on Sustainability: On Saturday morning, Mr. Graham and Lise Goddard attended UCSB's Environmental Studies Program's 40th Anniversary Celebration where Mr. Graham was on a panel member for a session entitled "What does a sustainable
world look like?"
- Math Conference: This past week, faculty member Phil Hasseljian attended the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) Annual Meeting & Exposition in San Diego.
- Piano for Sale: Kay Rich's piano, a Henry F. Miller upright, is for sale. The
Svennungsens bought it from a faculty member in 2000, and are offering
it for $500. Please email Martina with questions.
