Mad Hatter's Tea Party: On Thursday, Jill Redl extended an invitation to anyone who wanted to join her for a Mad Hatter's Tea Party. The only requirement was to show up in a "mad" outfit. Guests enjoyed iced tea, cookies and cucumber sandwiches. (photos coming soon on the website)
Freshman Camping Trip: Over the weekend, half of the freshman class went on a backpacking trip with Hayley
Anson and Rob Hopkinson
to a piece of Midland property along the Manzana Creek. For three days,
they hiked and camped along the water, exploring the old Manzana
schoolhouse and swimming whenever they could. (photos coming soon on the website)
- Senior Boys Weekend Camping Excursion: Seniors Beau Lino, Gus Dene, Inochi Fukui, Yuchen Zhao and William Johnston-Carter camped for two nights this past weekend at Sycamore.
Guest Speaker: On Sunday night, March 14th, Phil Boise visited and talked about his book, The Go Green Rating Scale, which is a way for early
childhood settings such as day cares, elementary schools, etc. to
evaluate just how green they are and to eliminate toxic chemicals that
may be used there. His enthusiastic delivery combined with the
seriousness of the topic kept the students engaged and there was a
spirited discussion on sustainability and how to
improve the environmental quality of all of our lives.
Beach Day: Faculty member Karen Readey took juniors Mariah Chen, Riley Martin and Nessa Ryan for an enjoyable afternoon at Gaviota Beach on Tuesday's half holiday.
- Athletics:
Lacrosse: Varsity Boys had the first game on Wednesday against York School. Midland lost but played well as a team.
