MIDLAND MINUTES
  • Vote for Midland! Voting is now open for the Green Cup Challenge videos. If you'd like to participate and vote for the video that Mariah Chen '11 made about Midland, please follow this link. Voting closes on March 21, and each person is only allowed to vote once.

  • Annual "Coffee House": Saturday evening was Midland's annual Coffee House - a "talent" show of sorts featuring several students and faculty members as entertainment.

  • Card Making and Letter Writing Club: Midland's Library Advisory Board held a card making and letter writing club on Tuesday, where students could create their own cards. Stamps were available for convenient mailing.

  • Pizza in the Garden: To celebrate their successful gardening, the freshmen spent their Midland 102 class time at the wood-fired pizza oven last week, using the leeks, celery, and cilantro from their garden plots as pizza toppings.

  • Admissions Acceptances: The acceptance letters for next year's new students were mailed out on Wednesday.We're still accepting 9th grade applications and hosting visitors so please keep spreading the word!

  • Drafting Class: This semester Midland is offering an architectural drafting class, taught by local architect and former instructor at SBCC and Dos Pueblos High School, Brian Nelson. Brian is the grandfather of Becca Rantanten '12. Students taking the class are Zhiyaun Huang '11, Kendrick Holmes '12, Kevin Jung '11 and Shue Him Lau '12.

  • Midland Open House: Tomorrow is Midland's Open House for prospective families, from 10 AM - 1 PM.

  • Athletics:
    Lacrosse season has started, and the first game is on March 17. Other sports options include the equestrian program, organic gardening, and maintenance.
