- Athletics:
Cross-Country: On Wednesday, Midland competed in the second Condor League meet. Phoebe Stokes '12, Tammy Yang '10 and Evan Kidd '11 each earned a top-ten spot in their races again this week. The boys' team placed second behind Thacher while the girls' team placed fourth ahead of Dunn. Kaya Lindsay '11, Renata Lozito '13 and Nessa Ryan '11 made significant personal improvements when their team needed it most. Next Wednesday, Midland will host Orcutt Academy for a friendly dual meet involving only the freshmen and sophomores.
- Volleyball: Last Friday, both JV and Varsity lost their games to Valley Christian. On Saturday against OVS, JV lost and Varsity won: 25-16, 26-28, 25-15, 25-10. JV beat Dunn on Wednesday and Varsity lost. JV plays at Orcutt today at 4:30 PM. See photos v. Dunn at SB Pix.

- Midland's Own Coffee: The junior class each year raises money for the cultural exchange trip to Mascota, Mexico. The juniors started fundraising this year at Round-Up. They are now taking orders for coffee. Each bag is 12 oz. with freshly roasted whole bean fair trade coffee. $15 each. You can order now and have great gifts for the holidays. - Flamenco: Wednesday, Paul Gelles and Anthony Harvey took 13
Midland students to see the Hispanic Flamenco Ballet in Santa Monica. Riley Martin '11 and Meghan Brown '12 joined several students from
other high schools on stage to perform a dance! It was a great time
for all.
