tagline
  • Water Testing: Thursday, Lise Goddard and Anthony Harvey took Chemistry students to two downstream sites in Los Olivos and Solvang to field test water quality. They will write reports on water quality of the Alamo Pintado Creek.
  • Athletics:
Cross-Country: On Wednesday, Midland hosted the first Condor League Cross Country meet of the season. The event was covered by local media. Midland boys took 2nd, to Thacher, and we had 3 boys in the top 10 (Evan Kidd '12, Beau Lino '10, and Gus Dene '10) and 2 girls in the top 10 (Phoebe Stokes '12 and Tammy Yang '10).  See photos at Santa Barbara Pix and Max Preps, and stats at DyestatCal.

  • Volleyball: Last Friday, JV had an  exciting match against Orcutt who came with a large team in both numbers and height--and with cheerleaders--but Midland girls took the first game. Orcutt took the second. The third and decisive game was hard fought and went into overtime. Unfortunately Midland lost 17 to 15. But our players played with a lot of heart and it was a very even and exciting match. Varsity played Besant Hill on Saturday and won 25-5, 25-20 and 25-16! Miranda Poett '10 and Gillian Beery-Beesley '12 both served 11 points in a row in game 1. In game two Besant Hill started out stronger and were actually ahead most of the game, but Midland played well as a team and got the victory!
Both teams play at Valley Christian School this afternoon.
  • Home Games Saturday: Come support the volleyball teams! Saturday, October 3rd at home against Ojai Valley School (OVS). JV at 2 PM and Varsity at 3 PM.

  • Assistant Director of Admissions Hayley Anson will be at the Clairbourn School Fair in Pasadena on Tuesday, October 6. If you know of any potential Midland families in that area, please encourage them to go to the Fair!

  • See photos of the Sierra camping trip that seniors Beau Lino, Gus Dene, and William Johnston-Carter, and sophomore Peter King went on with coaches Don Redl and Chris Rea, and faculty member Rob Hopkinson.
