  • Cousteau: On Monday night faculty member Shawn McVicar took a group of six students to a talk by Jean Michel and Celine Cousteau, son and granddaughter of Jacques. They spoke of their recent trip to the Amazon to document current ecological conditions from the headwaters to the mouth. They also spoke of trips to the Caribbean, Alaska, and the South Pacific. They highlighted a few select animal species and the causes of their population decline. All of their stories were illustrated with film footage from upcoming documentaries. Shawn reports, "It was a treat to hear from two generations of the Cousteau family, one of the most influential voices in marine ecosystem conservation."
