I had a chance to check my cellar Burgundy inventory
this morning and I discovered some older
Burgundies that I have been sitting on for
quite a while. It's fun to discover these
resting beauties, but I need to do something
with them. I can't drink them all,
you know.
These bottles are the repercussions over time
of several "my eyes were bigger than my
stomach" episodes, which are all too frequent
in the Hurley household. In fact, it's a
common wine lover's affliction, but if you're
feeling like there's a little too much
daylight shining through your cellar shelves
right now, this may be your Burgundy moment.
I've written about the following growers a
lot and have been importing them all
for years. They out-do themselves when
it comes to winemaking and their wines will
let you inside that wonderful Burgundian
world where Pinot Noir finds its most
exquisite expression.
The quantities below indicate how many
bottles of each are available.

of extraordinary depth and seriousness from
these well-tended, low-yielding vineyards."
