Cahors! The Finest Expression of Malbec in the World
We love this wine. The container has just arrived with the very successful 2008 vintage.
Jean-Luc Baldes has created Esprit de Flore, a fresh and fruity and accessible Cahors that is affordable, for everyone who wants to discover French Malbec. This is waht French Country wine is all about. Delicious, affordable, and very easy to like
"It is impossible to separate Clos Triguedina from the name Cahors. Jean-Luc Baldes is a passionate grower possessed by true know-how and the determination to produce wines of great distinction." -2008 La Revue du Vin de France
Jean-Luc Baldes took over this Clos Triguedina in 1990 and has put this estate in the elite of Cahors growers. The Domaine is old, back to 1830. The name Clos Triguedina means "Longing to dine" in Oc (the original spouthwestern France lanuage). I can relate to that. There are few things better than a duck breast sizzling and a glass of Clos Triguedina.
And now we have Jean-Luc's new cuvee, Esprit de Flore, 90% Malbec and 10% Merlot!
Esprit de Flore comes from vineyards in the villages of Vire sur Lot and Floressas right in the heart of the Cahors vineyards. The terroir is the most beautiful of the estate: the second terraces. The wine is also grown on the calcerous plateau.
