WHAT'S IN STORE...
We are proud to offer 4 Great varieties to meet your green hop brewing needs including Amarillo, Centennial, Citra and Simcoe.
These varieties have been very difficult to find this year. Be the first to get this year's crop!
These awesome hops are harvested fresh, and shipped the next day directly to Strange Brew, right from the hop fields.
You cannot get hops any fresher unless they are already growing in your back yard!
Because of the nature of these hops, they need to be used immediately upon receipt to ensure freshness.
HOW TO USE FRESH HOPS
Fresh or "green" hops are best for late-hopping (flavoring and aroma) because of the great aroma they impart. They also contain a lot of moisture (about 80 percent) and you would have to use a huge amount for bittering. (Use pellets for bittering.)
The key to using fresh hops is to use them immediately after harvesting. Coordinate your brewing day with the shipment of the hops.
Don't substitute fresh hops for kilned hops in a recipe. Use the fresh hops for aroma at a fairly heavy-handed rate, keeping in mind that they have a lot of extra weight because they are moist.
