Need help choosing which hops to grow?
 
Note: We recommend planting 2 of each rhizome for the best results. For those looking to try a few different types, I use the following basic guidelines.
 
  • Plant 2 Cascade: This popular hop grows well in all areas and is featured in a large number of great beer recipes. Plant 2 Cascade Roots together and ensure a prolific hop crop.
  • Choose 1 type from each of the following groups:
    • English Style: Fuggle, Golding or Willamette
    • German Style: Hallertau, Mt Hood, Tetnang
    • Bittering Hops: Chinook, Columbus, Galena, Horizon, Magnum, Northern Brewer, Newport 
    • Dual Purpose/Other: Brewer's Gold, Glacier, Sterling, Wild Wood
