ALERTS - Don't Be Scammed by Bogus QuickBooks E-mail Notices!
Unfortunately, the bad guys are at it again (or should I say still).
This time, they are sending out e-mails that look to be from Intuit/QuickBooks advising that you MUST download an update to your QuickBooks software in order to solve a problem with a digital certificate and some other nonsense. Those that have fallen for this trick have infected their computers with viruses and other bad things.
DON'T DO IT!
DO NOT DOWNLOAD THE ATTACHMENT!
All of the product updates that need to occur within QuickBooks can be found by clicking Help > Update QuickBooks in the menu bar.
In addition, it is just part of good, safe computing practices not to download or install ANY attachments from anyone until they are verfied to be safe.
