Welcome to CampTrak Tips

Greetings!
Marcel Snow is going to be giving us regular insights and tips.

Tip 7 - How do I maintain CampTrak?

There are two things that should be done on a regular basis.

  1. Compact Database File (found: Main Switchboard>Administration then on right Compact Database File)
    1. Should be done at least once a week.
    2. It is an incremental backup. It places a ctmain_b file in your CampTrak folder with a date at the front of the file name.
    3. Use it before sending things to history or making major changes and/or upgrades so that if you don't like the way things turned out you can go back to your latest incremental backup.
    4. It also compacts your database and makes it run faster
  2. Force Structure Update (found: Main Switchboard>Administration>System Setup then on right Force Structure Update)
    1. Should be done at least once a month.
    2. Re-indexes your database and makes it run more efficiently. (This is how it cleans up some of the mysterious "odd thing happenings" in CampTrak.)
