Tip 7 - How do I maintain CampTrak?
There are two things that should be done on a regular basis.
- Compact Database File (found: Main Switchboard>Administration then on right Compact Database File)
- Should be done at least once a week.
- It is an incremental backup. It places a ctmain_b file in your CampTrak folder with a date at the front of the file name.
- Use it before sending things to history or making major changes and/or upgrades so that if you don't like the way things turned out you can go back to your latest incremental backup.
- It also compacts your database and makes it run faster
- Force Structure Update (found: Main Switchboard>Administration>System Setup then on right Force Structure Update)
- Should be done at least once a month.
- Re-indexes your database and makes it run more efficiently. (This is how it cleans up some of the mysterious "odd thing happenings" in CampTrak.)
