If you are having trouble getting your data to filter the way you want. Try to remember back to your elementary school math when you learned groups and subgroups. Remember the logic of "or" and "and" statements. "Or" means that you want group A OR group B. "AND" means you want all of both group A AND group B.

In the CRM and the filters in the Record Information you are picking "AND" when you filter not "OR". Here are a couple simple examples:

• If you want everyone marked as a Parent and also everyone who is marked as a Donor you would need to filter twice: once for the parents (tick them and untick everyone else) then again for the donors (tick them but do not untick all the ticked people).
• If you want only those who are marked both as Parents and as Donors then you would only need to filter once: for everyone marked as a Parent "AND" as a Donor.

HINT: For a very complicated sort, draw it out in groups and subgroups to find the fastest, most accurate way to sort the information you want.
