Greetings!
Marcel Snow is going to be giving us regular insights and tips.

Vocabulary  (CampTrak has it's own language just like any specialty)

What is the Tick anyway and why is it called Tick?

Tick:

The "Tick" box is a way to filter records. It is also used as a temporary marker. The Tick is used as marker for the Label function, Process Address function, Batch Email function, and as filter in many reports.

Back when data was kept on pieces of paper filed in folders in file cabinets and you needed to sort out certain data a temporary flag would be put on each paper (so you wouldn't have to re-file them all.) This temporary flag was called a tick. Sometimes the results would be kept in a Tickler file.

USAGE:

When you are in an Individual Record (IR) under Functions, all the IRs in your entire data base can be marked with a tick by picking "Tick All". All the ticks can be removed from every record by picking "Un-Tick All". If you have used a filter to select some records you can tick them by picking Tick Now or remove the tick by picking "Un-Tick Now". You can also filter and tick records. in the Custom Report Manager (CRM).

Thought for the week:

We have two ears, two eyes, and but one tongue, to the end that we should hear and see more than we speak. (adapted from Socrates)
