President Hammond Appears on TVO's Agenda
On April 12th, ETFO President Sam Hammond was interviewed on TVO's flagship current affairs show, The Agenda. Responding to Education Minister Laurel Broten's contention that  ETFO left provincial discussions after one hour, President Hammond assured host Steve Paikin that ETFO "hasn't really walked away from anything."  President Hammond confirmed that "we'd be happy... to sit down with this government, the Minister of Education and key people in the Ministry of Education to work together to find solutions to the problems that are confronting all of us."

President Hammond on TVO's Agenda

During the interview, President Hammond discussed the unprecedented move by the provincial government to unilaterally strip education sector contracts, including the collective agreements of ETFO members. He urged the Minister to respect teachers by working collaboratively with ETFO in any provincial discussions, and to respect the bargaining process defined under the Ontario Labour Relations Act.

The complete interview with President Hammond can be found on ETFO's collective bargaining website, Control Your Future, and on the ETFO YouTube channel.
