Many of our patients just want us to do whatever it takes to fix them and would prefer not to be troubled with the details. "How many treatments will I need, How much will it cost, and What do I have to do at home?" As much as we are happy to help them we do think that there's value in understanding what we are trying to accomplish with each particular treatment session and how each procedure fits into their overall recovery plan.

Running is one of the simplest and most natural forms of exercise. Unfortunately by the time many people "re-discover" running they have developed so many poor motor patterns from years of sitting at a desk that they quickly become injured. Foot, ankle, knee and hip conditions are common. The resulting frustration deters a lot of people from continuing their running programs.

Meet Tanya Luke

Tanya graduated from the University of Alberta in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy (with distinction). She has completed several post graduate courses including a Diploma from the University of Alberta in Medical Acupuncture, a Certificate in Gunn Intramuscular Stimulation (IMS) and her basic level (E3V3) of Manual Therapy. Tanya's areas of Special Interest are with TMJ disorders (temporomandibular joint disorders), acupuncture and IMS.

Seasonal Injuries: Golfer's Elbow- Treatment Options
Tendonopathy (a problem with the tendons) of the inside of the elbow is commonly referred to as Golfer's elbow. Tennis elbow (pain on the outside of the elbow) is a similar but the onset is generally related to different activities. 
Tendonopathies generally
develop due to some sort of overuse or repetitive strain. It very common for conditions to start after a change in seasons (i.e. you didn't golf all winter, and decided to hit three buckets of balls at the driving range on the first nice day of the year).
