Hart County Forestry and Wildlife Field Day
For those near Hart County this Thursday (Nov. 3), there will be a forestry and wildlife field day on the Charlie Williams Tree Farm near Munfordville. Tax Tips for Landowners for the 2011 Tax Year
Each year the U.S. Forest Service releases a bulletin that summarizes federal income tax provisions as they relate to woodland property. Linda Wang, national Timber Tax Specialist, and John Green, Research Forester with the Southern Research Station, recently released the 2011 version. Forestry Fall Webinar Series
UK Forestry Extension has two Forestry Fall Webinars left in the series. On November 22, Shiitake Mushroom Production will be held and on November 29, Wildlife Damage: Control and Management. 4-H Forestry Field Days
Students from Barren, Warren, Nelson, Metcalfe, Allen, Hart, Monroe, Carter, Whitley, Montgomery, Simpson, Calloway, Livingston, and Magoffin counties participated in 4-H Forestry Field Days this month. Students tested their skills at tree identification and measurements, compass and pacing and forest evaluation.
