Biomass Workshops - July 12, 13, and 14 Energy wood can be harvested as an additional step during traditional sawtimber harvests to create many different energy products including liquid fuels. Make plans to join us for a energy wood program designed for woodland owners and Master Loggers (CEUs available). 2011 Woodland Owners Short Course The 2011 Woodland Owners Short Course (WOSC) is an excellent opportunity for you and your family to learn how to enhance your woodland ownership experience. The WOSC has a programming track for new woodland owners as well as experienced woodland owners. More than ten forestry, wildlife, and natural resource organizations are working together to present this year's program. Woodlands are an important asset worthy of our care. Logging and Permits - What Is On the Horizon?
The recent decision in the NEDC vs. Brown by the Ninth Circuit US Court of Appeals (Court) has been widely distributed throughout the forestry community in the U.S. It functionally removes the silvicultural exemption from the Clean Water Act (CWA) and determines that forest roads that collect storm water runoff, channel it, and deliver it directly or indirectly to streams and rivers are a point source of pollution. Kentucky Forest Leadership Program
The Kentucky Forest Leadership Program began over 50 years ago and has evolved during that time. The program is designed for high school students completing their sophomore and junior years. This week-long experience concentrates on forest management and related subjects. The program is held during the second week of June. We'd love to see your high school student next year.
