Mi Casa believes that when people have realistic opportunities to pursue professional, educational and entrepreneurial advancement - within a culturally responsive and supportive environment - the cycle of poverty will be broken.

Yet we can't continue this work without the support of our community...that means you.

All of us at Mi Casa are deeply grateful for your support!  ¡Mil gracias!

Mi Casa Resource Center logo November Event Wrap-Up

Image of Christine Marquez-Hudson and Joe Garcia Mi Casa held two events in November and we would like to thank our wonderful supporters for making them such a rousing success!

At Mi Casa's Path to Prosperity Breakfast, on Nov. 4, more than 240 friends joined us for a celebration of Mi Casa's work to advance family prosperity.

Lt. Gov. Joe Garcia (pictured above with Christine Marquez-Hudson) gave an inspiring address about the need to close the achievement gap for Latino youth. One in three Coloradans is of Latino origin, and Mi Casa agrees with the Lt. Gov. Garcia that it's time to boost the educational and economic achievement of our community!

The Path to Prosperity Breakfast raised nearly $20,000 to support Mi Casa's mission of economic success.

And in honor of Day of the Dead, El Diablo Restaurant hosted a party and silent auction to benefit Mi Casa. It was an awesome scene - a packed bar, great music and tables lined with spectacularly decorated sugar skulls up for bid.

The event raised vital operating funds to support Mi Casa's programs. Thank you, El Diablo for supporting our work!

IKEA understands that women are key to improving the well-being of children and achieving lasting change in society. That's why all programs that IKEA Centennial supports include community-based actions that empower women to create a better future for themselves, their children and their communities.

Mi Casa Resource Center is a perfect fit with these values and goals.

IKEA Centennial also recognizes and values the growth and involvement of the Latino community in Metro Denver. IKEA Centennial strives to be the Life Improvement store. Mi Casa aligns closely with this goal, providing new opportunities for Latino and working families to improve their lives.
