Over the next three weeks, a 39.6kW solar array will be installed on the roof of Mi Casa's Monument Community Hall! This exciting renewable energy project is supported by the Governor's Energy Office and paid for by funds from the economic stimulus bill - the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

Students in Mi Casa's career training programs will serve as installers on the project, providing them with hands-on training and a shot at a permanent position on a solar-install crew.

Mi Casa's solar array will produce an estimated 49,382 kWh per year, which will offset 24% of Mi Casa's total energy consumption.  Mi Casa's solar project is a Power Purchase Agreement style of ownership. Renewable Energy Ventures will own, operate and maintain the solar array; Mi Casa will pay a low rate for the energy it produces.

The savings resulting from the solar array will be reinvested into Mi Casa programs that help disadvantaged workers  launch promising careers in Colorado's new energy economy.

Mi Casa Resource Center logo 5 Tips for a Winning Resume

receiving help with resume

1. Be consistent - Keep formatting consistent on your resume and employment documents (font, bullet points, line spacing, etc.)

2. Be detailed - Include details about what you did in previous positions and how those experiences prepare you for the job you are applying for.

3. Be positive - Focus on strengths and accomplishments.

4. Be short and concise - Don't fall into the trap of run-on sentences. Keep things short and sweet with the focus on the "meat" of your activities and accomplishments.

5. Use action words - Put a punch behind every point you make about your past work experience with action words (accelerated, accomplished, achieved, adapted...etc.)
