Reminder

After many complaints,we need to remind everyone of house rule #15 which states: Domestic animals are not allowed on the Club property at any time. This includes the Clubhouse, golf course, pool area and tennis courts.

From the Board

Greetings from your Board of Directors. In case you haven't heard, we have begun the remodel project in the clubhouse. Your Board of Directors has engaged the construction management team of Ken Alexander, Steve Carpenter, and Ron Walker to build the design plan that Tom Hoch Designs, of Oklahoma City, completed for us. We are all very excited to have these three SCC members complete this project that we have been working on for over 2 ½ years.

The demolition plan allows us to continue to operate with full food service and bar service during the remodel project. The bar and dining room are now located in the large east room and sun room of the clubhouse, and you may enter the clubhouse by either the front door or the side door on the east.

Also, your Board would like to encourage our membership to continue to enjoy the great food and beverage service at the club. We have a wonderful chef and a great waite staff that we need to continue to support. So let's all keep coming to the club when we dine out, and don't forget we have the same great food available to go.

SCC still plans to offer social events in the clubhouse but they will just be on a smaller scale. Advanced reservations will be very helpful for us in planning for these events as well as regular dining at the club.

It's a very exciting time at Stillwater Country Club now, even though we will have a few inconveniences at times, we need to keep our eyes focused on the light at the end of the tunnel. That light is our newly remodeled clubhouse that will allow us the opportunity to recruit new memberships, bring back former members, and restore the luster and pride in SCC.

See you at the club,

Your Stillwater Country Club Board of Directors

From the Pro

This years Blackjack Invitational will be held June7, 8, and 9. It is not too early to sign up in the Pro Shop. If you wish, monthly payments can be spread out equally through the May 1st billing. The rest of the tournament schedule is available on the website.

A couple of our members started the year out right by making holes-in-one on hole #9. Congratulations to Jo Claire Pink and Dr. Walter Coffey for their fantastic shots. Those that aren't in the hole-in-one club need to inform the pro shop of your desire to be included.

There are several sales going on in the Pro Shoppe right now; buy 2 TaylorMade Stratus golf gloves and receive 1 FREE or buy 2 dozen TaylorMade Penta golf balls and receive 1 dozen FREE! Remember that we will not be undersold.

WGA News

The SCC Women's Golf Association will have their annual Golf Registration and Coffee on Tuesday, February 8, at 10:00 a.m.  It will be held in the Banquet Room.  Chuck Coatney will speak with us regarding rules or changes.  He will also give an update on the renovations.  Please RSVP to Judy O'Neil by e-mail or phone, 707-0102.  If you are unable to attend, the annual dues are $40.00 and can be mailed to Phyllis Sanders, Treasurer.  Don't forget to bring a couple of dollars for the ringer.  Hope to see you there.

Judy O'Neil

President

From the GM

Now that construction is under way, you might note the limited seating in the banquet room which has become our bar and grille for the next several months.

Reservations (372-1100) will assure a seating at your desired time.

A reminder to everyone that you actually belong to two Country Clubs. Not only do you get to enjoy things at SCC, but you have dining and playing privileges at Ponca City Country Club as well. Just let your Pro Shop staff make your tee times for you.

Also to enhance your membership, those wishing to bring a guest to our practice facilities, can now do so without having to buy a green fee. For just $15 per guest, they can use any of our practice facilities while they are in your accompaniment. Also, you can bring a grandchild who is under 16 out to play golf with you for $15 instead of using one of your free family rounds or paying a full green fee. Just let us know your preference. We will monitor these added benefits to make sure they are not abused or utilized in place of a membership.
