Dear Valued Client,

Spring is official and we welcome the warmer weather after a tough snowy winter. Let's hope it stays.

Fraser Engineering added Hygienic Piping services to our resume and we are excited to share this information with you, please see below. We also want to share a recent project that offers new technology which could be beneficial to you or your clients.

Moakley Courthouse

In February, Fraser Engineering Company, Inc. completed a HVAC retrofit at the Moakley Courthouse. The Moakley Courthouse is known as a unique American landmark, "where the charisma of Boston meets the open sea."  It is now also known as the first U.S. General Services Administration building to have the new City Multi VRF (Variable Refrigerant Flow) System installed.

The Courthouse, known for its architecture, needed renovations to its HVAC system as part of a plan to increase the system's operating efficiency. Fraser Engineering was selected to install Mitsubishi's VRF System, a system which is new to the USA and requires specialized factory training to install and service. This new zoning system allows one zone of the building to be heated while another zone cools. A single network is able to manage all zones to meet the needs of the individuals within the building. The benefit of this type of system is that you have both maximum comfort for the occupants while saving money by cooling and heating each zone simultaneously. VRF systems constantly modulate the amount of refrigerant being sent to each evaporator. By operating at varying speeds, VRF units work only at the needed rate, which is how they consume less energy than on/off systems.  Click here to learn more about Mitsubishi's VRF System.

In addition to the challenge of working with new technology, Fraser's team had to work in a very secure environment with the majority of the work completed at night so as not to disrupt the daily operations of the Federal Courthouse. We are very excited about what the VRF Systems mean for our industry. The future of HVAC has arrived and Fraser Engineering Company, Inc. was there to install it.

Bioprocess Piping Systems

Fraser Engineering is excited to announce that we now offer installation of Bioprocess Piping Systems to our customers. In order to meet Fraser's high standards and the high standards of our customers we've trained a select group of our staff memebers in the ASME Bioprocessing Equipment Standard. We have also extended our existing quality policies and standard operating procedures to incorporate the required BPE standards. Fraser has also acquired several automatic orbital welding systems covering pipe and tube sizes ranging from 0.25 inch OD up to 6 inch OD.

Our orbital welding operators are all factory trained and have been certified per ASME Section IX, B31.3 and ASME BPE. Achieving welds of consistent high quality is crucial in this industry and orbital welding is the answer to this need. Orbital welding is used to weld stationary tube or pipe. The tungsten electrode contained in the weld head rotor rotates or "orbits" around the weld joint circumference. One of our current projects is a validated WFI System for a customer in New Hampshire.

Fraser Engineering has a long history in New England and we look forward to continued growth and support for our existing clients while developing new relationships as we grow into this market segment. Our goal is to provide cost effective services for biopharmaceutical, pharmaceutical and other industries that require this level of hygienic piping.
