Even though school is out, we want to keep you up to date and get you ready for the 2012 - 2013 school year. We will be sending The INFO once a month during the summer. Expect it in your "In Box" next on the following Tuesdays: July 17th and August 21st. You can be a Star! Extras needed for television commercial: Students and families of Catholic schools are invited to participate in the taping of a commercial the Catholic Schools Office which will run on WICU-TV during the Olympics. Tentative production day is Thursday, July 12 with rain dates proposed for July 13 and 16. Main roles have been cast, but final shots will include a field of students and families smiling and waving at the camera. Location and time details will be available at www.ErieRCD.org. No RSVP necessary, just come join in the fun! |

URGE OUR LEGISLATORS TO SUPPORT SCHOOL CHOICE
House Bill 2468 was introduced on Tuesday, June 12, 2012, which would fund opportunity scholarships through a state tax credit program similar to the EITC program. The Educational Improvement Scholarship Credits (EISC)program would use tax credit payments for scholarships for students to attend the school of their choice.
Send a message to your state legislators and the governor in support of school choice and HB 2468. Click the link below to log in and send your message:

We ask people to be in touch with their state legislators for support of H.B. 2468. Forward this information on to familiy and friends and rally their support as well.

End of the Year Golf Team News
After school was out for summer, our Crusader Golf Team was still representing us at the Parochial Grade School Tournament held at the JC Martin Golf Course Friday, June 8, and Saturday, June 9, 2012.
Congratulations to the OLP team who came in 3rd overall. Special recognition to two 8th grade students: Jack Knox who placed 5th for 8th graders and AnnMarie Coppola who placed 3rd for 8th graders. |

OLP School Uniforms
Used Uniform Sale
If you did not turn in used uniforms at the end of school, you still have another opportunity. There will be two drop off dates in August: Monday, August 6th from 12 - 1, and Tuesday, August 7th from 5 to 6 in the gym lobby. Mark your calendars for Wednesday, August 8th for the annual uniform sale from 6:30 - 8. NOTE: The used uniform sale will be held in the GYM this year rather than in the cafeteria. New family orientation will be held in the cafeteria this same evening. All items are available for $1.00. If you have any questions please contact Virginia Prischak at 397-0451, or email at vprischak@yahoo.com. We are also still looking for volunteers for this event.

OLP Golf Outing 2012
The date of the Our Lady of Peace/ Hank Starr Memorial Golf Outing is quickly approaching. The event will be held on Friday, July 13, 2012 at Whispering Woods with a 10:00 a.m. shotgun start. There will be dinner and prizes immediately following golf.
Last year's event netted nearly $4,000 for the Parish/School and this year we hope to do even better! If you would like to register, sponsor a tee box and/or make a prize donation, please contact Paul Vojtek at 836-0951 or via email pvojtek@eriewaterworks.org. |

Grandparents' & Grandfriends' Day 2012
The 4th Annual Grandparents'/Grandfriends' Day will be held on Friday, September 21, 2012, in the afternoon for Kindergarten - Eighth grade. Invitations will be sent at the end of August. If you have any changes for people to invite from who you invited last year, please send an e-mail to Miss Lisa Wenner, Director of Advancement at lwenner@olpcrusaders.org. If you are new to the school or moving from preschool to kindergarten, simply send us the name, address, email, and phone number of the people who you would like to invite. It can be a grandparent, Godparent, aunt, uncle, neighbor etc.
The 4 year old preschool is planning their own special day on Friday, September 28, 2012. Details will be sent at a later date to those families.

New School Secretary
We are happy to announce the appointment of Mrs. Darlene Pundt as the new School Secretary. Mrs. Pundt is spending some time with Mrs. Marcin until the end of June learning about the position. She will officially assume her duties on August 1, 2012.
