In Evolution - being more of you:   

 

Sex. Lies. Arrogance. 

 

The headline on the cover of this week's TIME magazine reads, "Sex. Lies. Arrogance. What makes Powerful Men Act
Like Pigs?"

It's a powerful question. Right off the top I can tell you...the answers are not just about men. It's about men and women
and about what both men and women have created and allowed.

If you are interested in some powerful, provocative, thought-provoking answers to the question above, please read on. (And please forward this message to anyone whom you believe may
also be interested.)

So, what makes powerful men act like pigs?

· A society in which power, manipulation, and control are valued  
  over balance, integrity, and maturity.

· A society in which the experience and expression of authentic
  emotion - by a man or a woman - is demeaned, devalued,
  diminished, manipulated, or medicated.

· A society that values mind, money, marketing, and technology  
  above emotional maturity, intimacy, decency, and well-being.

· A society in which both men and women experience unfulfilling  
  and incomplete sexuality.

· A society that has almost extinguished authentic sexuality in
  favor of sexual arousal and experience dependant upon visual  
  stimulation, the objectification of the female body, medication,
  or the misguided belief that "the mind is the most powerful
  sexual organ."

· A society that self-medicates rather than experiencing,  
  expressing, learning, growing, and maturing.

· A society in which women have failed to claim the provocative,  
  positive power of their own intrinsic sexuality and instead
  have accepted a male-only paradigm of sexuality.

· A society in which people are creating their identity from
  what is outside of their self, rather than developing a  
  self-creating, self-generating, self-sustaining identity
  from within their self.

· A society that promotes sex as fantasy, visual stimulation,
  gadgets, gurus, and porn...rather than the powerful,
  pleasurable, vulnerable, healthy, life-giving experience
  our sexuality is intended to be.

· A society that does not recognize that our sexual dysfunction
  is directly impeding our ability to freely and fully access
  deep inner resources of wisdom, creativity and
  innovation. (Sexual energy is the gateway to creative energy - 
  the energy of creation - that is, the ability to actually create  
  life...human life, ideas, inventions, solutions, healing,
  enlightenment. Without healthy sex lives, we impede and
  obstruct our creative abilities  across the board.)

· A society in which both men and women have an imbalance
  of male and female energy within themselves and with
  one another.

· A society that believes in ancient biology rather than the
  tangible experiences of modern day material reality.

· A society in which both men and women have not taken
  responsibility to become fulfilled, emotionally mature, and
  evolved.

· A society in which women have allowed themselves to be
  objectified, subjugated, and victimized...leaving the beauty,  
  boldness, and benefit of their inherent emotional power
  and biological gifts unclaimed.

· A society that enables belief, illusion, and self-created
  realities rather than truth, inner certainty and material reality.

· A society in which mind, media, money, marketing, and
  technology has advanced beyond our wildest imaginings and  
  yet...we still live in a world in which war, poverty, sexual  
  slavery, genocide, racism, sexism, and terrorism occur
  every day.

A society in which neither men, nor women have stepped up
to the plate separately - or in partnership - to say...

..."It is time for us to evolve beyond this."

"Powerful men acting like pigs" is the responsibility of both men
and women. When we stop ignoring it, denying it, enabling it, empowering it, and allowing it...it will change.

Michael Jackson had a wonderful song called "Man in the Mirror." Whether you are a man or a woman, what can you do today
