So, what are the concrete, tangible ways you can begin to
move towards mastery of your life?
Certainty. Intimacy. Enjoyment. Fulfillment.
These are the building blocks of mastery. Certainty is the development
of an inner knowing and the willingness to be conscious of reality
24/7. Intimacy is being you, fully and freely, and upholding your boundaries with your self and with others. Enjoyment is what you
"do" every day on the way to fulfillment. Fulfillment is the foundation
on which you build a life you love.
Mastery - and authentic maturity - requires you stand in the
substance and the silliness, the demands and the dysfunction, the seriousness and the superficiality of your life...and embrace it all
with acceptance and without judgment.
Mastery - and maturity - requires you to transform challenges into opportunities and then to meet those opportunities with all of you: physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually.
That means when you choose to have a "time out" - to avoid, ignore,
or anesthetize your self from reality - you do so consciously, willing to
be responsible for your choice. It's not about being "wrong" or "bad,"
it's simply about being conscious and responsible.
Mastery means truly experiencing your life fully and freely...the joy
and the sadness, the change and the challenge, the anxiety and the ecstasy. And then integrating those experiences into who you are...
from the inside out, rather than from the outside in.
One the greatest imbalances in our world right now is that people genuinely believe that who they are is created from outside of their
self - from money, marketing, and media or rules, roles, and religion - rather than from within themselves. True intimacy begins within.
The combination of knowing who you are from within - certainty -
and sharing more of who you are fully and freely - intimacy -
creates authentic enjoyment and lasting fulfillment.
Certainty + Intimacy = Fulfillment
And when you are fulfilled...you can build.
Masters...build. (Impostors manipulate.) Masters are always engaged
in an inner process of building.
Building = Evolution
Evolution is building - becoming - more of who you are. Masters experience life fully and express themselves freely. Not because they "know it all"; their certainty - their knowing - is open, fluid, flexible,
but also well grounded.
And not because they "have it all;" masters face the same real life challenges as you and I. But masters know they possess - within
them - all they really need.
Masters face reality, meet challenges, and make changes...rather
than relying on - or hoping for - some mystical, magical "secret."
True masters know that spiritual solutions grounded in practicality and reality create more magic, more enjoyment, and more fulfillment than any pat answers, easy fixes, or "woo-woo" solutions.
Masters move about the world "being the change they seek" and then sharing that energy with everyone whom they come in contact with.
This then provides everyone around them with an opportunity to
become more of their own self, too.
This is mastery.
