From the Membership Desk

Week in and week out, your Chamber is devoted to staying the course - remaining committed to the goal of improving the business climate in Marion County - just as you as valued Members must stay the course in the ever present challenge of recruiting and retaining customers, clients and referral partners. This week, take a moment to take stock in your accomplishments, assess your short and long term goals, and re-commit to staying laser focused on them - through the ups and the downs. Remember, going from good to great results from persistence, resilience and dedication to your cause.   As sales columnist & writer Jeff Gitomer notes in his article "Every great salesperson was once a beginner," In just 20 years I have become and overnight success. I encourage you to stay your course, stay committed to making your Chamber Membership an active experience, and create a wildly successful destiny for yourself - and your organization.

News from the YMCA: Did you know that our community's health is failing? In a 2011 nation- and state-wide county health ranking, Marion County ranked in the bottom third of Florida's 67 counties. That's why they are using the month of September to teach Marion County residents that chronic disease is preventable through simple behavior modification.
