August 2: Marion County Fair Tax Presentation at the Howard Johnson Inn, 3951 NW Bonnie Heath Blvd. Ocala, 7 - 9 PM. (Additonal presentations include: August 9 at the Holiday Inn Express, 5360 E Silver Springs Blvd, 7 - 9 PM; August 16 at Gruff's Tap & Grille, 12084 S Williams St, Dunnellon 7 - 9 PM).

 

August 6: Help us help Ocala!!! You're invited to a charity event from 10 AM- 4 PM at 7668 SW 60th Ave #500. Come enjoy a bounce house, water slide, basketball toss, carnival games, food, raffles, K Country, & much more!! 100% of the proceeds go directly to Stuff the Bus (which benefits homeless children in the Marion County School Systems). There are a few ways that you can help. You can donate services or merchandise to be raffled off at the event, become a vendor at the event (no charge), provide a kid friendly activity to offer for the kids, become a drop off facility for your customers, or do all of the above!!!! August 11: Marion Regional Manufacturers Association's 2nd Annual MRMA Vendor Fair at the College of Central Florida. Are you a manufacturing company looking for ways to improve your company's efficiency and profitability? Does your business support the manufacturing or distribution business sector? If your answer is yes, then the MRMA Vendor Fair is the place for you. 10 AM - 3 PM at the College of Central Florida's Klein Center. 

 
Until August 19: The Marion County YMCA's summer camp. Available for school-aged kids until August 19th. The theme of the camp is Game On!, and the Y has worked to provide positive, fun activities that build athletic, social and interpersonal skills. Every day, we keep campers happy and moving with swimming, field trips, arts and crafts and sports and games. The cost is $110 per week for members and $160 per week for non-members. Camp activity hours are from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and our extended hours are from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. To register, call the YMCA at 352-368-9622 or e-mail jcooke@cfymca.org.

 

August 20: 3rd Annual Antiques & Collectibles Appraisal-thon to benefit the Honor Flight Network. 12 - 4 PM at Angela Santos VFW Post 4781, 9401 SW 110th Street (just off HWY 200, across from Oak Run). Appraising personal jewelry, coins, and WWII era memorabilia, NO stamps or large furniture. Donations for appraisals are $5 per item (limit 6 items please). August 26: Highland Memorial Park, Ocala's Premier Memorial Park, is hosting a charity picnic to benefit "Success By 6" from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM.  The mission of Success By 6 is to help children ages birth through age six to have access to high quality childcare and educational experiences.  Come out and support this great charity! 1515 NE Third Street in Ocala (2 blocks behind the Cascades Office Complex).  Lunch will be served on a donation basis with 100% of the proceeds benefiting Success By 6.  For more information, call 369.1020.
