Lights on Afterschool 2012

Lights On Afterschool is...

A national day of recognition celebrating the importance of afterschool programming. Afterschool keeps kids safe, helps working families, and inspires learning.  In light of these tough economic times, it is critical that we raise our voices to make a case for afterschool!  We hope that you can join us in this opportunity to build a united front of advocates for the importance of afterschool!

As part of the celebration, we will produce a Lip Dub to Nas's "I Can". A lip dub is when a group makes up actions and lip syncs to create their own video version of a song. "I Can" talks about the ability we all have to be what we want to be and the impact of choices. You can see the lyrics and hear the song at:  http://www.lyrics007.com/Nas%20Lyrics/I%20Can%20Lyrics.html We invite students, staff, parents etc. to come up with creative ways to lip sync to the song - all of which will be videotaped during an on stage performance at the event!

1.     Send Wendy an email with the name of the organization, the number of people involved and their ages, and a short description of what you might do.
