Can local or regional Staffing firms meet the challenge of providing quality services without global reach? How can users of staffing services mesh their need for high quality services with their need for global staffing?
According to Staffing Industry reports the challenge for the small, agile, often local or regional staffing operator is broadening their reach. Many buyers (users) of staffing services would prefer to deal with fewer suppliers, to gain more consistent bill rates and less paperwork however they find that they cannot get the global reach to supply their locations around the world
and the quality levels demanded by their Managers responsible for the delivery of their products and/or services.
More collaboration may be attempted!
If the large multi-national staffing firms have the reach to draw in large customer needs from many corners of the globe, they haven't figured out for the most part how to deliver a best-in-world class of quality service and people consistently.
While the smaller, faster to adjust, quick on their feet often local staffing firm can do a great job delivering service on a very high level in a few markets they haven't been able to maintain that high level of quality service delivery as they have grown nationally or globally.
We may see more joint ventures as well as increased M & A activity to try to address these issues, however, if the multi-national imposes the same broad cookie cutter approach to service delivery as their present infrastructure demands, it will not work. At the same time, the great local service deliverer will need to make some adjustments to make their delivery system work across a broader landscape or they too will fail at what they have always done best.
In order to succeed, according to staffing industry reports a new approach will most likely require a separate management team with the authority to get the job done without the usual bureaucratic steps that can and often do induce failure and frustration on all sides.
