Directories Distributed If you joined PTSA this year, your complimentary school directory should have been sent home with one of your children. If you did not receive yours, check with your child's teacher or email Laura Cannistra (lcannistra@dickinsonptsa.org) or Marcia Stann (mstann@dickinsonptsa.org). Thank you Laura and Marcia for your hard work and attention to so much detail in getting these done! |
Middle School Transition UpdateSlides from last Thursday's Middle School Transition meeting with Evergreen Junior High are now posted on the EJH web site. Please go to http://www.lwsd.org/school/ejh/Pages/MiddleSchoolConfiguration.aspx to view the slides. A sample schedule, as well as the 5th and 6th grade transition calendars, are also available on the web site. Two additional information nights will be held in January, one for 5th grade parents and another for 6th grade parents, as well as several Coffee Chats (see the schedule for dates). Evergreen emphasizes student participation in the registration process, so the Evergreen counselors will visit Dickinson in January to talk to the students about the transition and their elective options. The 5th and 6th grade teachers will provide registration materials which the students will bring home for discussion and completion with their parents. Evergreen's newsletter, the Eagle Express, is an interesting way to begin becoming more familiar with Evergreen's environment. If you are interested in signing up for it, please visit http://archive.constantcontact.com/fs031/1103640951160/archive/1108363039323.html and click on "Join Our Mailing List".
If you were unable to make Thursday's meeting and have questions about the transition, please feel free to email Andrea Stoppani (astoppani@dickinsonptsa.org). |

Scholarship Basket Auction
Thursday, December 1st, 9:30am
Lake Washington PTSA Council cordially invites you to our Annual Scholarship Basket Auction, December 1st, 9:30am*, at the LWSD Resource Center Lobby. Enter to win one of several great raffle prizes! All proceeds provide scholarships to graduating seniors and staff in our district.
* Silent bidding begins November 3rd, 2011
Scholarships for students and teachers are possible thanks to your generosity. Each year, the PTSA Council awards a variety of scholarships to graduating seniors and to LWSD certificated staff. Funding for these scholarships is provided by the generosity of all PTAs in the district, the continued support and success of Council's Annual Scholarship Basket Auction and donations from the greater community. Student scholarships, recognizing achievement and community service, assist recipients in their post-secondary education. Scholarships for certificated LWSD staff provide assistance with continuing education at an institute of higher learning, through LWSD Professional Development, or for pursuing National Board Certification. |
