CHES 2009 Summer Trip a Success!
Greetings from CHES! We would like to thank you for your past and continued support! We came from a God-given idea that developed into a prayer group. From a prayer group we became an organization. We were supported by Bentley University from the beginning and Les Freres Deronette in our 2008 Fall Concert. CHES is now pleased to inform you about its activities in the past year since that fundraising concert. We had been hard at work planning our CHES Summer 2009 trip to Haiti. Some CHES representatives including our officers, board of directors and supporters went to Haiti this summer: Rose Roseme (Board of Director and Health Ministry), Whit Verkade (Board of Director), Rebecca Obounou (President and Founder), Angelina Hodges (Secretary) and Marie Roseme (Supporter). Our goal was to explore the areas we were targeting to start up some CHES operations: Limbe, Haiti in the North and Les Cayes, Haiti in the South of the country. We have been working jointly with various organizations toward the realization of jointly planned projects.
The results CHES Nord d'Haiti is our newest CHES extension that we are pleased to announce. We held an info session at Semine, Haiti for the community and its neighboring communities during our trip. The Excalibur Food Dehydrator business startup! At Semine, Haiti a food dehydrating business was started up by the members of CHES Nord d'Haiti. CHES and Whit Verkade, owner of Excalibur Food Dehydrator, worked with the group on developing their business plan and come to agreement about the terms and conditions of working with CHES and Excalibur Food Dehydrators. New musicians and artists were selected for Peace Tones. CHES is proud to work with Wester Desamour an amazing musician. Wester will be working with Peacetones and CHES. Peacetones is creating a compilation album of various Haitian artists in which Wester will partcipate. To see Wester's interview, please visit our website. The RESPE Balan community health training were very valuable to the people of the community. Rose Roseme, was the main instructor of the trainings. Assisting her in the trainings was Marie Roseme who is also her sister. Rose also involved local health professionals to train in the program as well. Together they trained over 100 people.
Help us by praying with us and donating some of your time and money. CHES prays every Saturday morning at 9 AM EST on a conference call line. Please join us on Saturdays at (712) 432-1630, access code: 540550# option 1. Please donate whatever amount God has place on your heart. You can donate online! We are looking for dedicated people who are passionate about the betterment of Haiti. We are only asking for a part of your spare time. All of the work CHES has done thus far has been largely because of some doing a little. If many do a little in CHES, just imagine what that will be! God bless you and thank you again for your support. Sincerely Rebecca Roseme Obounou CHES President and Founder
