2012-2013 Chamber Academic Scholarship
The Altavista Area Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a $750.00 scholarship to be awarded to an individual who will be a full-time college student for the 2012 - 2013 academic year. The applicant or parent(s) of the applicant must be a member of the Altavista Area Chamber of Commerce or an employee of a Chamber member. Applicants must also have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
You may obtain an application from your Guidance Counselor or by clicking on the link below. The application and all required information must be returned to the Altavista Chamber of Commerce by May 11, 2012.

VEC Employer Seminar Great Success
The VEC held a great employer focused seminar March, 21st. Participants took away valuable information. Francie Dye, from the VEC, was on hand to offer an informative overview of the Virginia Workforce Connection, Labor Market Information, & Employer Incentives. This was a great seminar and was very well attended!

Town Wide Clean Up
Thank you for coming out and working so hard to help beautify Altavista! All our volunteers did a great job! Special thanks to Food Lion, Wal-Mart & Vista Food for donating water & snacks for the event.
Abbott, the Boy Scouts, & the Colonels Service Club did a great job recruiting many of their own volunteers to give us a hand. Great job!
