Why wear masks?

What are masks used for? Why do people make masks?
One reason for wearing a mask is to pretend to be someone or something else.

The mask can be a type of communication used to express the emotion of the figure one chooses to create. When one sees a person wearing a mask depicting a happy expression, what do you think it means? It may infer several meanings. It may convey the mask wearer's genuine happiness to other people, and encourage them to laugh, or it may mask, or hide, the wearer's real emotions, such as unhappiness. Some masks may serve more than one purpose.

In the Dharmi Practice we follow several steps. The first step is to examine the repetitive behavior that is not serving you well anymore. This is done by focusing on physical reactions, emotional responses, mental beliefs and the behaviour you chose (consciously or unconsciously) to respond in specific situations of your life.
We acknowledge these memories in a holistic way, and release their influence in our Life. We are clearing and unveiling new possibilities and perspectives in our life.

The creation of a new point of reference allows us to surrender to the flow of life in a harmonious and powerful way. The process provides us with tools and opens us to new perspectives aligned with our truth at any given moment.
From this place, you express your intention with awareness within your Life's Dance.

Believe in what I do

"As a dancer with Christelle's guidance, I can attest to the overall feeling of wellness and empowerment fostered by practicing the theories and steps of Dharmi.
Truly, after having attended several sessions conducted by Christelle, I can understand why these ancient cultural techniques have endured the test of time.
Employing the skills I learned, I feel I have become better at my trade. I now exude utmost confidence when I perform my craft and I captivate the audience's attention more completely. I have become more creative with my tricks and most importantly I believe in what I do.
In sum, I highly recommend learning about this culturally unique art form and practicing it to anyone who dares to dream. I predict an upcoming renaissance of these empowerment techniques which will be brought on through Christelle's ingenious vision and appreciation of past cultures together with the present reality."

In hunting societies, people often imitate the physical characteristics of prey, as a way of identifying with the animals and/or giving thks to them. The wide, turned-outstance of the dancers, often accompanied by a trembling of the legs, is a characteristic element in many of the aboriginal dance performed by men.
