Breaking The Mold

Several years ago, the East Texas Center for Independent Living, the Texas Department of Assistive and Rehabilitative Services, and Workforce Solutions East Texas formed a partnership to organize a yearly seminar to educate employers about the benefits and importance of hiring people with disabilities. Five years later, this annual even has evolved into a major East Texas event called Breaking the Mold.

Presenters from across the state come to speak to large and small businesses about the benefits of hiring people with disabilities, how to improve training programs within their companies, and support systems that can help accommodate their valued employees.

Since its beginning, businesses have benefited from this annual event by gaining valuable information and insight toward enhancing their recruitment processes and further developing training programs, which has resulted in more successful hiring practices and a higher quality workforce that is rich in diversity and inclusive of people with disabilities.

For more information or to register, contact Karen Holt with the East Texas Center for Independent Living at 903-241-6021, 903-918-8885, [email protected] or www.etcil.org
