Midnight Sun Swedish Adventure

Ride the magnificent land of the Midnight Sun!
From horseback, carriage and river boat enjoy the incredible natural beauty of this far northern pristine wilderness. Experience the remarkable landscape, beautiful river and mountains, excellent trails, wonderful people, unique culture and delicious food as part of our small group on this custom designed adventure.

We will meet you at the airport in the northern Swedish city of Lulea where you will be transported to the coastal city of Pitea. At the beautiful Pitea Stads Hotel you will have a delicious dinner and good night’s sleep after your overseas flight. The next day we will enjoy a trail ride along the sandy trails of the coastal evergreen forest. We will then be transported to the incredible Grand Arctic Hotel for a wonderful dinner and overnight lodging.

After breakfast we will tour a very traditional, organic farm where you will have the unique opportunity to bake your own bread in an ancient stone oven. After our tour and bread baking we will pack up our bread and other fresh farm produce which we will have for lunch then board horse drawn carriages for a beautiful ride of a few hours along quiet country roads reaching our picnic destination on the banks of the magnificent Kalix River. Later in the afternoon we will board a large wooden raft for a relaxing float down a lazy section of the river. The Kalix River is one of only three completely wild rivers in Sweden. It courses it way through the gorgeous wilderness scenery of northern Sweden. Midnight Sun Swedish Horseback Adventure Our dinner of local foods will be grilled and served on board the raft. You may also enjoy the very traditional sauna on the raft followed by a stimulating dip in the chilly Kalix River! That evening we'll arrive back at the Grand Artic Hotel.

The next morning we will be transported further north into the Lappland Region for two days of amazing trail rides deep into the incredible wilderness mountains. During this time we will be spending our nights at the very comfortable Grand Hotel Lappland in Gallivare.

Horse Training

When you send your horse to us for training, your horse will have a solid foundation and impeccable manners. Our program uses gentle communication and absolutely no violence or rough handling. A relationship of mutual respect and trust is built between horse and human. Learn More.

For our final full day we will be transported to Lulea for shopping and sightseeing. You will especially enjoy seeing the Old Church Town which has been placed on the World Heritage List due to its “outstanding universal value and its relevance to all mankind”. We will be dining and lodging for the night at the elegant, 100 year old Elite Stads Hotel Lulea.

Ed Dabney personally knows all of our activity providers and he has visited many of the locations we will be seeing during this trip. Cost of this amazing and completely customized adventure is $5,350 per person which includes all ground transportation, meals, lodging and activities. Your overseas flights to and from Lulea Sweden are not included in this trip cost. Connecting flights into Lulea are available from London and Stockholm.
