What's New at ROCK'n & JAM'n?
I hope you all are having a great summer and are getting out and having some memorable experiences. As I think back to some of my summer adventures, the most memorable are the ones that have been epic, the good kind as well as the "not so much".  It's amazing how the brain works... the more epic the experience, the more the event will "stick" with you. So, if your summer adventure leaves you shaken or ecstatic, you'll certainly have something to blog about...but it may not be for a few years when you have a chance to really let it sink in! Enjoy the rest of your summer, because we're already planning our fall programs!

Staff Updates!
We're both proud and saddened to announce several changes on the RJ Staff front!

Brendan, who has been with us for close to 13 years, will be leaving ROCK'n & JAM'n  to start a new chapter in his life. Brendan, Estee , and Kestral ("little monkey" Aiken) will be moving to Montana later this month. Brendan has been part of the R&J "family" for almost as long as we've been around. He will be sorely missed.

Baby Aiken

With Brendan leaving, congratulations go out to both Rylan and Nathan. They have been promoted to Routesetting Manager positions. They both have been outstanding setters, and we couldn't be happier that they have taken on these new and exciting roles.

We'd also like to welcome our newest addition to the routesetting staff. Please give a warm welcome to Keith. We are excited to add his style and strength to our already talented setting team.

RJ1 Clinic: Falling and Commitment Clinic
This training addresses falling directly to help improve commitment. We do progressive falling practice, followed by movement, breathing, resting, and body/mind awareness exercises. Finally, students apply everything to a goal route. Students leave understanding how to take appropriate risks and how to commit to those risks.

Monday, August 8th, 6-10pm

$79 for Members / $89 for Non-Members

RJ2 Clinic: Falling Clinic

Being effective in climbing requires us to understand the consequences of our decisions and actions. In climbing the main consequence is falling. By understanding how to fall we diminish the chance of injury and allow us to focus attention effectively on climbing.

Wednesday, August 10th, 6-9pm
$69 for Members / $79 for Non-Members
