Robin spoke during the session "Fostering a Culture of Shared Leadership Through Jewish Learning."  Prior to beginning her Rabbinic studies, Robin served as the Jewish Studies Director at Morasha Jewish Day School. Her remarks focused on how Jewish text study impacted her school and influenced the way in which the school did business from the Board of Trustees to the classroom.

Marvin SweeneyMarvin A. Sweeney, PhD, AJRCA Professor of Tanakh and Professor of Hebrew Bible at Claremont School of Theology, recently attended the Symposium on the Book of the Twelve Prophets held January 14-16, 2011 at the Westfaelische Wilhelms-Universitaet in Muenster, Germany.  The conference, organized by Prof. Dr. Rainer Albertz (Muenster), Dr. Jacob Woehrle (Muenster), and Prof. Dr. James Nogalski (Baylor), included most of the major European and North American scholars working in the field of Book of the Twelve studies today.  Dr. Sweeney's paper, "Synchronic and Diachronic Concerns in Reading the Book of the Twelve Prophets," built upon his prior commentary on the Book of the Twelve (The Twelve Prophets [Berit Olam; Collegeville, MN: Liturgical, 2000]) to examine the differing forms of the Book of the Twelve Prophets in the Hebrew Masoretic and the Greek Septuagint traditions as a basis for redaction-critical study of the book.  While in Muenster, he also attended Shabbat services at the Juedische Kultusgemeinde and gave an impromptu talk at the Kiddush concerning his participation in the conference and his earlier work in the Soviet Jewry movement.
